I had a great time in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Vietnam Veteran Tribute hosted by “Lest We Forget”. I was honored to be a guest speaker, and also honored that many people picked up a copy of The Kansas NCO. It was a great program.
On Friday afternoon a gentleman stopped by our table with two young sons. One, a ninth grader, who had heard about The Kansas NCO and wanted a copy. I felt compelled to warn his father that the content was of an adult nature. His dad said it was no problem, the boy was very mature and could handle it, so I happily sold him a book.
The next morning I was surprised to see the family back. By then the young man had already read the book, viewed my website and wanted to know when the sequel would be available! (Experiences like this make being a writer very rewarding)
Thanks also to those who have sent email, FB messages, and letters with kind words regarding The Kansas NCO, Sweet Bird of Youth, and some of my goofy fishing stories. The sequel has been pushed out to 2016, (please excuse my slothfulness on this one) please follow my blog for updates and other activities.
