Summary

The Kansas NCO, by Joe Campolo, Jr., is a trip to a darker place in Vietnam than the jungle. It is a journey into a combatant’s mind and spirit. It could easily be the protagonist’s Heart of Darkness with a surprise ending. The characters paint a picture of strength and weakness, both of which are a part of a warrior. It is an action filled mystery hidden in the foliage of a thriller. I recommend the book to those who enjoy character development and redemption.
