Joe Campolo Jr. is an award winning author, poet and public speaker. He is known for his award winning books The Kansas NCO, Back to the World,Three Wars, and On War, Fishing and Philosophy. A United States Air Force Vietnam War veteran, Joe belongs to the VFW, The American Legion, the Kenosha Area Vietnam Vets (KAVV), and Vietnam Vets of America (VVA).
Joe started writing at an early age, penning fantasies inspired by Jack O Brien, Twain, and others. He wrote articles for military newspapers while serving in the Air Force. Joe holds an Associate Degree in Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in business with a minor in history. Joe had a rewarding career in engineering and procurement, traveling the world on many interesting projects, writing many papers and articles for company reports and news letters.
Joe’s interests are very diverse; he played two musical instruments in his youth and holds a yellow belt in Taekwondo. He also enjoys traveling and fishing. 😉

*Joe provided one year of service as a Veteran’s Mentor on a local Veteran’s Drug Treatment Court.
*Joe recently completed his 2nd year as an Honor Flight Ambassador, welcoming Veterans returning from their Honor Flights, and their family and friends to the Milwaukee international airport.
*For five years Joe delivered meals to the elderly and handicapped community, as a volunteer for the local “Meals on Wheels” program.
*Joe is a member of several Veteran’s Facebook groups, and busy though he is, serves as an administrator on two of them.

Sadly Ann, Joe’s wife of forty years, passed away in 2023. Joe and Ann raised two children and have two grandchildren. Joe enjoys traveling, fishing, spending time with his family and writing.
